    These historic stamps were issued to celebrate the first step on the Moon by Apollo 11’s Commander Neil Armstrong on July 20

    , 1969. They feature Armstrong as he first stepped onto the Moon’s surface and stated “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”. They are the first “jumbo” commemorative postage stamps to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service and were placed on sale seven weeks after the great event.
