This pair of Bennington Parian vases date from 1847 to 1858. They were created in Bennington, Vermont and represent some of the earliest examples of American made Parian. These vase are not however, without their minor imperfections. The top edges of both vases do show a bit of age related yellowing and the lip of one vase has part of a petal broken. Also some of the grape vine tendrils have been broken. That being said however, these two vases are between 160 to 170 years old and taking their advanced age into consideration I think that they have weathering the storms of time quite well. They stand 10.5 inches tall, have a maximum diameter of 5 inches, have a mouth diameter of 3 inches and rest upon a 3.25 inch diameter base. These vase are on the light side weighing just over 1.5 pounds each. There blue color is still bold and distinctive and together they make for quite a historic pair.
