Antique Bennington Flint Glaze Enamel Book Shaped Flask c. 1880

Description

This great but unbranded flint glazed (or Rockingham glazed) enamel book shaped flask is probably from Bennington, Vermont c. 1880.  It has the typical dark mottled brown against orange cream color glazed surfaces.  The pages are faintly delineated on the book's edges and the spine has five raised bands.  It has some age related wear (minor chips) to the glaze on the bottom front corners and around the spout (see photos). It has light crazing on most of its surfaces.  The piece is 6" tall x 4" wide x 2 1/8" thick.
